St. Faustina Catholic Church Fulshear, Texas Coordinator of Spanish Music St. Faustina Catholic Church, a vibrant and growing Catholic community located in Fulshear, Texas, is seeking a passionate Coordinator of Spanish Music to lead and provide guidance to music volunteers and choir of our Masses in Spanish. This is a vibrant segment of our parish community who thoroughly engage in the music and reverence of our Masses in Spanish. This is a part-time position requiring up to 15 hours per week. This may vary during special liturgical times of the year. The position reports to the Director of Music Ministry. Summary: The Coordinator of Spanish Music serves to assist the Director of Music Ministry in various ways to develop a comprehensive music program that embodies the principles of the parish's vision and mission ensuring music, specifically in Spanish, is presented with the highest quality: A center of Divine Mercy where everyone is transformed through a deep relationship with Jesus. RESPONSIBILITIES:

General: Work closely with the Director of Music, music ministry members, and others in the parish in all aspects of the music ministry that require Spanish music, including but not limited to planning music for Spanish liturgies, organizing music rehearsals for the Spanish choir, ensuring music sheets and other materials are correct and available to support Sunday liturgies, special liturgies, and events. Work closely with the Music Ministry Director to implement various strategies and programs designed to enhance the ministry. Maintain Planning Center: Effectively use this software by uploading new songs, making sure keys, time signatures, tempos are correct, and by making sure schedules are secure with cantors and accompanists for each Mass in Spanish time. This requires a strong knowledge and familiarity of the software. Assist in the acquisition of lead sheets, sheet music, choral arrangements, new songs, and psalms in their proper keys, and uploading them to Planning Center, or delivering them to the Music Admin for upload. Organize and lead rehearsals for Masses in Spanish including but not limited to one weeknight rehearsal and one pre-mass Sunday rehearsal. Organize and lead music for one daily mass per week followed monthly by an adoration time. Assist the Director of Music in coordinating music for weddings in Spanish, funerals, baptisms, Holy Days of Obligation, rehearsals and other special events. Attend music ministry and other parish-related meetings as requested. Specifically, a weekly music ministry team meeting to evaluate the previous weekend liturgies and plan for the upcoming weekend. Be a leader in both service and spirit, ending each rehearsal with prayer, and being available and compassionate to music volunteers for ongoing music and spiritual needs. Experiences and Competencies: Must be a member of the Catholic Church in good standing. Undergraduate degree in music with a focus on sacred church music is preferred. Minimum of three years of professional experience in music ministry with familiarity of Catholic liturgical rites and principles. Experience supervising a church choir, leading rehearsals, and conducting choirs required. High level of proficiency in piano and organ keyboard skills. Proficiency in other instruments a plus. Knowledgeable of church music literature in all forms and styles for multiple segments of the congregation including choirs, vocalists, and instrumentalists. Knowledgeable of traditional and contemporary Catholic music. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to speak and read Spanish fluently is required. Must have at least an intermediate level of computer skills: knowledgeable of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other music-related software. Familiarity with Planning Center software preferred. Familiarity with Finale and Sibelius notation software preferred. Able to work independently with limited supervision, multi-task and deadline oriented. Must be Safe Environment compliance training certified.
