Job Description

Salary: $80,000 - 100,000 per year Requirements:

  • We require a bachelors degree in information technology or computer science, along with 10 years of progressive experience in IT operations; equivalent education and experience may also be considered.
  • We need broad knowledge of hardware and software, with the ability to learn quickly.
  • We prefer experience with information systems audits or regulatory reviews.
  • We look for a logical, methodical problem-solving approach and strong interpersonal/client-handling skills.
  • We value excellent communication skills and the ability to formulate, present, and act independently on ideas and decisions.
  • We require the ability to communicate effectively with team members, guests, and external contacts at all levels.
  • We need the capability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • We expect strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
  • We require an Iowa Racing & Gaming Commission License.
  • We require a valid drivers license with at least three years of driving experience.
Responsibilities:
  • We oversee the overall management, coordination, and operation of the information technology department.
  • We deliver exceptional guest service to both internal and external guests while reflecting our culture in every interaction.
  • We maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations.
  • We create a supportive, motivating environment for our team members.
  • We monitor and assess department programs, events, and projects to help achieve goals and support profitability.
  • We analyze departmental data and reports to improve future program execution.
  • We prepare operating budgets, track compliance, and address budget variances.
  • We administer, secure, and maintain the server environment, including backups and disaster recovery planning.
  • We repair and upgrade hardware, networks, and software.
  • We coordinate equipment selection and purchasing, and maintain an accurate inventory of technology parts and equipment.
  • We provide in-service and hands-on training for team members on hardware and software applications.
  • We stay current on technology through training sessions, seminars, and workshops.
  • We monitor network performance, identify issues, and manage LAN hardware/software acquisition, installation, and maintenance.
  • We handle systems and network operations such as troubleshooting, user access, password resets, backups, restores, and email setup.
  • We oversee project review, assignment, environment design, baseline changes, and administrative documentation.
  • We manage operational dependencies such as change and asset management to ensure deliverables are met.
  • We conduct feasibility studies, develop RFPs, and handle connectivity to external clients.
  • We monitor system performance, apply tuning, and oversee software and network security.
  • We manage voice system operations and protect the integrity of host computers, databases, and data transfer.
  • We deploy and maintain firewalls, cryptography systems, and host security measures.
  • We analyze system usage, plan for growth, and oversee required reconfigurations.
  • We research emerging products, services, protocols, and standards.
  • We negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors.
  • We develop policies, procedures, and training plans for system administration.
  • We oversee network and security audits and resolve issues within our authority, escalating others to our supervisor.
  • We keep our supervisor informed of relevant activities and perform other assigned duties.
  • We ensure compliance with gaming-related laws, regulations, training requirements, licensing, and internal controls.
  • We manage subordinates and provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation for the unit(s).
