Electrical Work:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including lighting, wiring, circuit breakers, and outlets.
Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide corrective action in a timely manner.
Ensure all electrical work is performed in compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
Facilities Maintenance:
Perform routine and emergency maintenance on campus buildings, including plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and general repairs.
Conduct inspections to identify and address maintenance issues proactively.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and ensure proper use of equipment.
Respond promptly to facilities-related requests from campus departments and staff.
Perform minor carpentry, drywall, painting, and other maintenance tasks as needed.
Safety & Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring the safe operation of electrical and maintenance equipment.
Participate in safety training and maintain knowledge of relevant codes and regulations.
Adhere to lockout/tagout procedures and other safety practices for electrical work and general maintenance tasks.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with campus administration, faculty, and staff to ensure timely completion of work orders.
Keep detailed records of all electrical and maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacements.
Provide exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders and maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
Education & Experience:
Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent experience.
Experience with general facilities maintenance tasks (plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, etc.) is highly preferred.
Previous experience working in a campus or large institutional setting is a plus.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, building codes, and safety protocols.
Proficient in the use of electrical tools and diagnostic equipment.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials as needed.
